my firecrackers
I got out of bed and spent some money on personal armament:
10.000 – this was the biggest size we could find.
Then we rode back in a cab that had Guan Yu on the dashboard:
My friend’s mom was making dumplings:
The stuffing and eating of dumplings is a major part of the New Year festivities.
Then we lounged around chatting and watching TV until late at night, and I had huge amounts of peanuts and coke.
You could hear the fireworks outside.
People had been pyrotechnically active all day, but they really only got started at midnight:
This is for everyone who has been missing out on this year’s festivities:
The first minute after 00:00.
I didn’t mess with the beautiful fireworks though, because I was too caught up in this stuff:
China-style heavy-duty firecrackers.
Here’s my contribution:
Hear my disappointment in the end? I think I got cheated on, this was certainly NOT a ten thousand piece firecracker!
Well, it was fun anyways:
We took this shot featuring me, my head torch, the hood of my jacket, the cigarette I had used to light up the fuse – and of course my ridiculously yellow beard.
Here’s to all the Chinese who didn’t have the chance to be with their families and loved ones today:
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
