encounters
Today was another walk through the cold and white:
Here’s something for the horticulturists:
Garlic. A good friend once told me that having a few of these with every meal is the best way not to get stomach-sick.
I’ve been having lots and lots ever since.
Now maybe it was because of the aroma that comes with massive garlic consumption, but this little friend and me just didn’t get along:
You gotta realize it’s time to leave when the host is getting ready to throw his milk bottle at you.
So out on the highway I was again:
Then this truck driver yells at me: “Need a ride, man?”
I politely decline and start going into lots of blabla how I have to walk on foot…
The dude laughs: “Don’t remember me, buddy?” and points to his arm:
Ah! I know this guy! The dragon – long 龍: the happy and the burning red
What a coincidence!
We took a photograph together and then decided we should meet up more often on this highway, which is his route as well as my route.
I arrived in Xinjiang in high spirits:
This place is actually much larger and culturally rich than I had expected.
I’m going to have to spend a full day tomorrow checking out all the historical sites.
Oh, and the spring festival is at hand, with another two weeks to go – time to get armed:
I’m excited to see this nation of pyromaniacs in action again.
Very impressive.
Again, I’m getting closer to the thing.
