More Information

This post is about how I get my repaired lens back while I’m in Xinle. It’s also the first of December, the beginning of Advent.

Where I am from, Christmas is on the evening of December 24th. Today is December 1st. That’s not Christmas.

But for me it is, at least a little.

Iโ€™m still hanging out at my friend’s place in Xinle when Haozi from Beijing rings me up and says:

โ€œWhere are you at, weโ€™re coming over!โ€

You guessed right, theyโ€™re coming to bring me backโ€ฆ

But they didnโ€™t stop there. They got me some candy, too.

This is a LOT of candy. I canโ€™t possibly carry all that stuff in my backpack. What to do, what to do…

I guess Iโ€™ll have to stay in for today and do some candy-devouring!

By the way, there are a few things I have learned over the last two or three weeks:

  1. I have slowed down the pace, and walking has become more fun now.
  2. I am rich โ€“ rich in candy, rich in friends, rich in beautiful things to see.

Iโ€™ll hang out today, on this 1st of December, on my own personal little Christmas day, and then I’ll try to leave town tomorrow.

The mountains are coming, and they are getting closer and closer.
