Someone left a comment saying they wanted to see me happy again. Well, me too. It wasn’t that I was sad all the time. But I definitely felt a lot of stress a lot of the time.

For example today.

After a brief visit at the dentist, I went back to the hospital where I had fainted a week earlier. The plan was to get another shot, and I felt a bit nervous going in. I didn’t want anything to go wrong, and I sure as hell didn’t want to faint again.

But this time I had a plan: as soon as the procedure started, I went to a mental happy place. I can’t tell you anything about it other than that it was really fucking happy.

I didn’t faint.

So here’s my happy face:

Notice the shirt I’m wearing? At this point I was still trying to figure out how to go about my planned merchandise business, and today I had received a sample that looked pretty nice:

But there were still some unanswered questions.

Lovely smile Christoph, thank you ❤. Wicked t-shirt too! No matter how old you are there will always be unanswered questions, I’m not sure how I feel about that but I’m open for figuring it out. I just want to find contentment and adventure throughout the rest of my life.

„I want to beg you, as much as I can, dear sir, to be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and to try to love the questions themselves like locked rooms and like books that are written in a very foreign tongue. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer.“

Wasn’t R. M. Rilke spot on when he wrote this to his friend and fellow poet more than a century ago? I come back to this (favourite) quote every time some question or decision keeps nagging and twisting in the back of my mind too much. No matter how small or big your questions are, Chris – here‘s to the New Year and to unanswered questions!
