sad spring

I don’t like the word grief very much. It sounds rather formal to me, like a tradition that has been handed down to us, something that we have to act out, not like a real emotion. Also, I think that every time we say things like “good grief” it takes away from its meaning.

I prefer to use the word sadness instead. It might seem a bit less strong at first. And maybe it is. But it’s also more raw, more primal. You can be sad about little things that are not worth grieving about. But you can also be very fucking sad.

Anyway, like any emotion, it comes in waves:

The sun was out today:

looks like spring

And it looked a bit like spring.
